Guidelines for Case Presentations to the Membership
- Ten completed orthodontic cases, treated exclusively by the candidate.
- Case report display: Minimal records consist of study models, intra-oral x-rays, cephalometric x-rays and tracings, left profile and frontal photographs ¼ scale, and intra-oral photographs taken:
- Prior to treatment
- At the conclusion of active treatment (cephalometric tracings should also include beginning and final superimpositions on SN at S, maxillae and mandible)
- Each case should be accompanied by a written account, placed in a suitable binder, and prepared in accordance with the following:
- Name of orthodontist
- Title – case identification number, name and age
- Diagnosis – nature and extent of anomalies
- History and general clinical picture
- Etiology - attributed causes
- Plan of treatment – general plan, appliances used, supplemental therapy
- Progress of the case
- Retention – appliances, length of time, etc.
- Observations and conclusions
- On the designated day the case presentations should be displayed by 8:00 A.M. and left out during the entire day. This will give the examining committee an opportunity to go over the cases. The applicant is asked to leave after his display is arranged, since a member of the examining committee will review the cases with them later in the day.
- Please confirm your date and time of presentation with the Program Chairman and Membership Chairman.
- The candidate must have his sponsor check his cases before presentation to the Society.
